SHAPE

I only ask for a shape
Of the vivid feelings within
Too much to ask for, is it?
It was always about dimensions.
Consuming and discarding,
Rejecting and regarding.
A condescending lull of the eyes
Delivered just once; sustained forever
Who knows how the 'long' feels?
Does it experience differently
When an ache from the inside
Rises shortly and just won't die
How prolonged is a terror
For the apparently 'short'
Winding below like a gyre
And frozen in equal thought
How the 'flat' deals with a 'sharp'
When either mean no harm
Yet collide and corrode
In moments of worldly collision
So very shapeless and full of shame
Without a single definite name
To address the blunt honesty
That even civilisation could not tame
