OVERFLOWING

Meet me someday
With a broken heart
And a sealed bottle
Of preserved wine
And I will unscrew for you
A wine like none other
A most uncanny flavour
This is a secret ingredient affair
That brews in the conscience
Long after being
No more there

Flimsy inhibitions will fade
Leaving behind just
Your marooned body
Blue and pale, with a joy
That was not yours
But of that holy alcohol
Which you gulped
To suppress a destruction
To wash out a flood
In an unnamed fear
Of the brim overflowing
